Mary Hall Freedom House is Atlanta Panhellenic's official philanthropy

www.maryhallfreedomhouse.org

AAPA's official philanthropy is the Mary Hall Freedom House, Inc, an organization that "empowers women to break the cycle of addiction, poverty, and homelessness."

Mary Hall Freedom House, AAPA's philanthropy was established in 1996 by Lucy Hall in memory of her Mother. Her Mother died of alcholism when Lucy was six years old; however, the impressions her Mother made on her life inspired a life-long committment to establish a comprehensive residentual recovery program for women and women with children.

Today MHFH is a nationally recognized leader in gender-specific residential substance abuse. It represents thousands of individuals whose lives have been changed daily in its facilities that provide day treatment, outpatient care, residental and mental health treatment. In addition, its services include family counseling, medical, dental, pediatric, and vision care. It has a day care center as well as an after school program for older children.

AAPA had their November 2010 monthly meeting at the facility ( followed by a tour) and plan to have the March 1, 2011 Leadership Forum there also.

Atlanta Panhellenic presents a $1,000 check to Mary Hall Freedom House in support of their efforts to empower women.

Their needs are many. In addition to feminine products, tampons, and Depends®, gift cards are most appreciated from Kroger, Publix, Dollar stores, Target, Big Lots, K-Mart, etc. These cards are used by MHFH personnel for the individual needs of women and children. In view of the fact that their Wish List may change on a monthly basis contact Faeverner Kramer, Delta Gamma (faeverner@bellsouth.net) to deterimine current needs. Sorority assignments are made at the beginning of AAPA's year.

They are very appreciative of any donations that members of AAPA make.

MHFH address is 200 Hanover Park Drive, Sandy Springs, GA. 30350 (770-542-5500)
